This is a major  project. at this time the Lake Michigan portion is about 90% done. The Great Lakes basin covers 295,000 square miles of land and water, including nearly 6,700 miles of American shoreline. Twenty-five million American citizens rely on the lakes for their recreation and their livelihoods. Economically, it is one of the most important areas in North America.--and their connecting channels form the largest fresh surface water system on earth.  These Sweet Seas hold  about one-fifth of the world's fresh surface water supply and nine-tenths of the U.S. supply.

Two lights linked to each other and land by a catwalk above the pier base. Both towers are painted red. The inner tower is taller. The smaller outer tower is built on a base designed so that the side that faces the lake is like the bow of a boat.
